Sarah's Story
I would like to thank you and Home-Start for the support you have provided me with over the last 6 months. I think one of the hardest things to do, as a parent is to admit you’re not coping well and need extra support. What was really nice when first meeting yourselves was the non-judgemental approach you had, which immediately put me at ease. My son and I both feel very lucky to have been given such a wonderful volunteer from Home-Start. She has come into our home so open minded and keen to learn about my son’s difficulties, which I feel as a learning curve has empowered both of us.

Katy's Story
Steve and Katy moved with their son Nathan, then two and a half, from the south-west to Southport in 2004 to be nearer family, but the underlying reason was because Steve’s dad was ill with terminal cancer. But shortly before the move Katy’s mum had a heart attack, and one day Katy was followed by a stranger who got into the house and threatened her and Nathan at knifepoint. Then, in February 05, Steve’s dad died. At the time Katy was pregnant with Chloe who was born in July 05.

Linda's Story
I was referred to Home-Start by my health visitor as she was worried about me being alone with two very young babies. I had not long lived in Southport when I got pregnant with my first son Ben. 12 months later I was pregnant again with my second son Jack. Therefore I hadn’t had a lot of time to make new friends or socialise whatsoever.
